A very rare pair of Italian pietre dure plaques, Granducal Workshop, Florence, probably by Fabiano Tedesco after a design by Emanuele Tedesco early 17th century each of rectangular form, one depicting figures in a landscape, the other depicting figures amongst buildings within a seascape, on a black slate ground, the whole inlaid with alabaster, lapis lazuli and jaspers, within a Régence style carved giltwood frame each panel: 31.5cm. x 45cm.; 1ft.½in. x 1ft. 3¾in.; total with frame: 54cm. x 67cm.; 1ft. 7¼in. x 2ft. 2¼in.
