Downey, Alice Hughes Lafayette, Rita Martin, Arthur Rouselle, Speaight, and F. A. Swaine as well as photographs of portraits by artists including John Singer Sargent Speaight and Movat Lovdan. The sitters include Her Majesty Queen Alexandra, Lady Byron, The Viscountess Curzon, The Countess Of Crewe, The Marchioness Camden, The Duchess Of Hamilton, The Duchess Of Marlborough, The Duchess Of Norfolk, The Duchess Of Portland, Lady Hastings, The Princess Of Pless, Lady Paget and Lady Rosmead. Alexander Bassano was the leading Royal and high society photographer in Victorian London. Perhaps most famously, Bassano is recognised for his photograph of Lord Kitchener's head which formed the basis of the World War I recruiting poster 'Your Country Needs You'.
