A very high quality 19th century Persian dagger, having an unusual blade with gold koftgari/damascene decoration. The blade of 27cm is predominantly edged on the inner concave edge, with a hollow-ground flat and T-section spine, together with a flared yelman, or false-edge, for 16cm of the convex edge. The hilt of ivory, with deeply carved decoration of Persian human figures and floral surrounds. Overall length 40.5cm. This item contain ivory and is therefore subject to CITES regulations.
