With finely watered single-edged blade, gilt-copper hilt (gilding worn) with pinched-in basal mount engraved with foliage, grip-strap en suite, and characteristic 'eared' walrus-ivory grips, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather with shaped silver locket and chape retaining traces of gilding, the former with foliate suspension loop, the latter with scallop shell-shaped terminal; together with a Balkan dagger, late 19th century, with earlier long recurved sharply-pointed single-edged blade cut with two narrow fullers along the back on one side, and with a series of fullers above a line of wrigglework on the other, beaked white-metal hilt with rounded dark horn grips, and domed white-metal boss on one side of the pommel, in its wooden scabbard covered in black leather (terminal incomplete) (2) 22.4 cm. and 45.5 cm. blades
