A TRIPTYCH, depicting a courtly scene, by THE SPANISH FORGER, oil on panel, [Paris, c.1900]. 685 x 477mm (open); 340 x 477mm (closed). A courtly scene, with lords and ladies arriving on horseback and on foot in the left panel, in the backdrop blue skies, trees and a medieval castle; in the centre the lords and ladies queue to pay their respects to a seated queen, flanked by a man in black wearing the Order of the Golden Fleece and holding a goblet; in the right panel two servant boys hold golden goblets and a jug, behind them an elaborate piece of furniture with other gold pieces and two men looking on (vertical cracks in the centre and right panels).
