A THREE STRAND NATURAL PEARL NECKLACE WITH LATE 19TH CENTURY AND LATER DIAMOND CLASP The three rows of one hundred and forty eight slightly graduated natural peals, measuring 5.9 to 6.7mm, to an old cut and rose cut diamond set lyre clasp, approximately 1.60 carats total, gold backed silver setting, unmarked Size/dimensions: 35cm long Gross weight: 60 grams The property of Hannah Primrose, Countess of Rosebery (nee Rothschild) 1851-1890 Thence By descent Offered for sale with a Gemmological Certification Services Gemmological Report, No: 5784-0455, dated 21.11.2023, stating: Variety Natural Nacreous Pearl Environment Saltwater Condition Report: The clasp is converted from a brooch, original pin fitting removed. Gold backing appears to have been widened to accommodate clasp fitting and loops The pearls of slightly ovoid, drop and round shapes, with cream body colour and fair to good lustre. About a handful of pearls with crazing, some unevenness to nacre throughout. Overall fairly well matched It may benefit from being restrung, however stringing still functional. Clasp appears secure. Diamonds approx. 1.60ct total, average estimated clarity Si2-I1, colour difficult to grade due to mount, however stones face up well. Overall in good condition Condition Report Disclaimer
