(26.1cm.), in an aikuchi scabbard in black lacquer decorated with archaic Chinese characters in gold lacquer, the tsuka with polished same-nuri , patinated silver fuchi-kashira, the kashira pierced, combined koiguchi and kurikata , extended kojiri , gold manji and karigane mon mekugi , with its original outer silk lined leather bag with gilt manji mon and karigane mon as on the mekugi , 19th Century, full length 17¼in.
