A SWISS SPLIT-PEARL SET ENAMELLED GOLD SNUFF-BOX by Guidon, Rémond & Gide, marked, Geneva, circa 1800, the enamel by Isaac Adam (1768-1841), signed and dated 1800 Oval box, the cover enamelled with a young peasant couple offering berries to their nude child, a dog aside, extensive landscape background, within a split-pearl border, the base engine-turned with a wavy radiating sunset motif turned with a foliage wreath, enamelled in translucent royal blue, bordered by a white enamel band twisted with a gold leaf garland within a black enamel surround with scrolling taille d'épargne gold leaves, the upper border of the sides similarly adorned, the four side pilasters with matched urns, the side panels engine-turned with wavy reeding engraved with scrolling foliage and enamelled in translucent royal blue 36 in. (90 mm.) wide
