A SWISS GOLD SEALING-WAX CASE WITH CONCEALED WATCH probably Geneva, late 18th/early 19th century, unmarked Slightly tapering étui of octagonal section, the front and rear sides of the base divided into two parts, all six panels on both sides and panels on left and right hand sides decorated with wavy reeded engine-turning forming a pattern of peaked lozenges, within stamped leaf border, the cover with arched top, plain matrix, a lever on the left-hand side panel releasing a secret mechanism opening a secret lid on the lower third of the case to reveal a watch with white enamelled face, mounted in a hinged rectangle engraved with doves of Love, within blue enamelled borders, the inside later transformed into a lip-stick holder, with later key 41/8 in.
