A SUITE OF LOUIS XVI GILTWOOD AND GREY-PAINTED SEAT-FURNITURE CIRCA 1785 Comprising four fauteuils and two side chairs, each with a rectangular back with beaded and stiff-leaf borders, flanked by fluted columns below flowerhead paterae and leaf-wrapped finials, the padded back and seat covered in Chinoiserie-patterned cotton, on turned fluted tapering legs, the armchairs with stop-fluted scrolled arms headed and capped by carved acanthus, the front seat-rail of five chairs bearing a spurious stamp 'J.B. BOULARD' Each armchair: 35¾ in. (91 cm.) high; 23½ in. (60 cm.) wide; 19 in. (48 cm.) deep Each side chair: 34¾ in. (88 cm.) high; 18½ in. (47 cm.) wide; 17½ in. (44 cm.) deep (6)
