Beschreibung:

A STYLISH ART DECO SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND RING, YARD Set with an elongated rectangular-cut sapphire weighing approximately 10.75 cts., with fancy and baguette-cut diamond geometric shoulders to the platinum hoop, circa 1930 Signed by Yard Quality of craftsmanship, superb gemstones and fine design characterize the jewelry of Raymond Yard. Beginning his career with Marcus & Co., Yard opened his first salon in 1922, catering to an elite clientele that included the Rockefellers. He maintained a close relationship with his clients, often selling jewelry to several generations within the same family. Chosing not to advertise, his reputation spread by word of mouth only. From the outset, Yard insisted on only the best in all his jewelry designs. He set the standard for the industry, using only the finest precious gemstones. Diamonds had to be D, E or F color. Rubies were imported from Burma, sapphires from Kashmir, opals from Australia and alexandrites from Russia. Each piece was, and is still today, handmade by expert jewelers on the premises. In its design and use of superb gemstones, the illustrated ring meets the rigorous standards set by this very demanding jeweler.
