Beschreibung:

The Navy revolver has the shortest production of all Starr revolvers with approximately 3,000 made between 1858 and 1860. It is a military issue. Inspector stamps can be found with the letter 'T' on frame, cylinder and barrel. There is a visible cartouche on left panel that is no longer readable, but outline can be seen. The 'T' stands for "JT" which would have been visible on grip panel (John Taylor . Taylor was a principal sub-inspector. Gun is in excellent, all original condition. Frame retains approximately 20% original blue, while barrel hinge retains some blue and the balance of the gun is a perfectly smooth blue-brown patina. Sharp legends. Cylinder has all original perfect nipples and is blue-brown patina. Grips are excellent with usual small dings. The military received 2,250 "JT" inspected weapons, but few are seldom found so stamped, adding to the rarity of this fine and scarce Civil War Navy revolver. Revolver has strong rifling with frosting. Fine action. This is one of the finest condition, military inspected Starr Navy's that we have encountered. Name Value Manufacturer Starr Model Navy Serial Number 1581 Caliber .36 Percussion Barrel Length 6" FFL Status Antique
