A SPECTACULAR MASSIVE FAMILLE ROSE YELLOW-GROUND VASE QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD Of well-proportioned baluster shape, the vase is densely decorated with an opulent design of fantastic interlaced flower sprays comprising six primary exotic blooms framed by curly foliage and other unusual blossoms, all exquisitely enamelled in brilliant shades of pink, blue, green, aubergine, yellow and iron-red, the broad shoulder with a complex ruyi band bearing pendent flowers and a pair of gilt animal-mask ring-handles integrally moulded on the body, below a narrow frieze with ribboned ruyi , double-fish and wan symbols against leafy scrolls, the waisted neck with four bouquets framed by floral arabesques, edged with diverse floral bands around the splayed foot and at the mouth rim, all against a rich lemon-yellow ground, the base and interior turquoise-glazed (minor enamel losses) 23 in.
