A SMALL YAOZHOU CELADON CARVED SAUCER DISH NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127) The dish has shallow rounded sides and is carved in the interior with a whorl motif formed by overlapping waves detailed with rouletting, all under a slightly greyish-green glaze that continues onto the flat base and ends at the edge of a broad unglazed circle that surrounds the small, glazed countersunk center. 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) diam.
