A SILVER REPOUSSEE FRAMED MIRROR Probably Sicilian, 1st half 18th Century, unmarked The later rectangular bevelled plate in an egg-moulded border and C-scroll and foliate serpentine frame chased with shells and flowers, the cresting surmounted by a cross and centred by a cabachon now applied with the ormolu crest of an owl and a motto 'BE FAST' for the Savile family, with distressed 18th Century red silk damask to the reverse and name-tag embroidered 'GALLERY ROOM', previously but not originally with an easel support 47¾ x 30 in. (121.5 x 76.5 cm.)
