A silver mounted horse's hoof inkwell by Grey & Co., Chester 1937, with a hinged flat cover, engraved Saint Bernard and naturalistic hair, the shoe electro-plated, 14cm (5 1/2in) long Provenance: Almost certainly given by the Major Charles Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot KCVO, 20th Earl of Shrewsbury to the Hon. Mrs E. W.H. Eliot, thence by direct decent to the current owner. The seat of the Earls of Shrewsbury was Alton Towers until it was sold in 1924.
