An interesting hand-written letter from The Earl of Strathmore to Provost Rattray, referring to the engagement of his daughter to the Duke of York.A card invitation to the wedding, addressed to The Provost of Monifieth & Mrs J Maxwell Rattray, together with a dress code leaflet. Two printed card tickets for the Royal Wedding, admitting The Provost of Monifieth & Mrs Maxwell Rattray, together with a Ceremonial Department Cachet containing instructions from Lord Chamberlain. A detailed and thorough hand-written eye witness account of the wedding, presumed to be the hand of The Provost of Monifieth. A hand-written letter to Provost Rattray regarding The Royal Wedding from 'Strathmore' dated 2nd May 1923.A card invitation to Provost & Mrs Maxwell Rattray for an 'At Home' event at Glemis Castle, hosted by The Earl & Countess of Strathmore to meet Their Royal Highnesses The Duke & Dutchess of York. Two hand-written letters from Cecilia Strathmore, the Queens maternal grandmother to Provost Maxwell Rattray. A card invitation to the Golden wedding celebrations of The Earl & Countess of Strathmore at Glemis Castle, addressed to Mrs J Maxwell Rattray.
