Harry Leslie Holloway Cremer was educated at the King’s School Canterbury, and was a Cadet in the O.T.C. prior to his commission as Second Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment) in January 1913. Cremer served with the 1/4th Battalion in the Asiatic theatre of war from 5 August 1915. After the war he transferred to the Territorial Army Reserve of Officers, and advanced to Captain in April 1937. Cremer served as a Major with the Kent Command of the Home Guard during the Second War, and was employed as a Lieutenant with the Army Cadet Force from April 1950. He was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Kent in January 1952, and in later life resided at The Grange, Chartham, near Canterbury, Kent.
