A RARE YELLOW-GROUND FAMILLE ROSE 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' CHARGER GUANGXU IRON-RED SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1875-1908) Enamelled on the interior in bright tones of green, pink, aubergine, purple and turquoise, to depict a dragon descending through clusters of ruyi clouds, above a phoenix with its wings outspread, standing on rockwork and shaded beneath a gnarled pine tree, amidst daisies and flowering tree peonies, all against a yolk-yellow ground, bordered below the mouth rim with a diaper-band, evenly divided by four Precious Emblems, each within a bracket-lobed cartouche, the exterior decorated with eight large stylised shou medallions, against a brocade-ground below a ruyi -head border 24 1/4 in. (61.5 cm.) diam.
