A RARE MOLDED FAUX CARVED RED LACQUER BOWL QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795) With shallow, upright sides rising to an everted rim, the exterior finely molded with five bats ( wufu ) reserved against a wave ground scattered with flowers, above a band of froth-capped waves crashing against rocks, all covered in coral-red enamel, the interior gilded in imitation of a gold liner, with six spur marks on the iron-red base 4 7/8 in. (12.5 cm.) diam.
