A RARE INDO-JAVANESE BRONZE SEATED GANESH, the unusual bald head showing the skull structure, with stylised facial features and flared ears, holding the usual attributes of broken tusk, rosary, axe and bowl of sweets, seated with one leg raised, on a circular base with three skulls, possibly 8th - 10th century, 6" high. It is very rare, if not unprecedented, to find a Ganesh figure with a bald head. This may well be a particular Javanese interpretation of the subject. Provenance: The A.T.
