A RARE GOLD AND SILVER FOIL-DECORATED CHAMPLEVE ENAMEL CIRCULAR FOOD BOX AND COVER QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795) The stepped cover and sides of the box finely decorated with an allover pattern of bats in flight amidst double gourds and flowers, all in gold and silver foil, some covered in pale mauve champlevé enamel and borne on leafy tendrils covered in green enamel, all reserved on a blue enamel ground applied over a pattern of shou characters, the box raised on four bracket supports, the interior fitted with a circular tray encircled by eight fan-shaped trays, all decorated en suite below a pale mauve rope-twist band and a border of leaf tips in green enamel, the interiors of the cover and box, the exteriors of the trays, and the base of the box covered in white enamel 13½ in. (34.3 cm.) diam.
