A rare brass-inlaid wrought iron goffering iron, British, probably Welsh, circa 1800 The barrel with moulded end fitted to a loop at the top of the stem, wrought with a pronounced curve and with a snake head terminal with brass-inlaid eye, on a short file-decorated straight stem and on a base of three tapering rectangular-section legs with pointed arrow or leaf-shaped feet, one side of the stem inlaid in brass with a series of lines, the numerals and letters '18LL', and to the other side with the initials 'DW', 28cm high
