A RARE ARCHAISTIC IMITATION-BRONZE VASE, HU QIANLONG MOULDED SIX-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795) Sturdily potted in imitation of a parcel-gilt bronze vase, the ovoid section body moulded in low relief with a central frieze of taotie masks reserved on carved leiwen between bowstring borders, repeated at the neck spanned by a pair of loop-handles issuing from monster masks, below band of scroll-filled pendent blades around the mouth rim, with upright lappets and a ruyi collar encircling the spreading foot, all in a matte café-au-lait glaze, with gilding on the background of the decorative bands 15 3/4 in.
