A Porcelain Figure Of A Lioness And Cub by the Popov Factory, Moscow, circa 1840 Realistically modelled and painted, the lioness with open roaring mouth, half-lying down with one front paw raised, the lion cub lying beside her, on a base simulating a patch of grass, marked under base with impressed Cyrillic monogram 'AP' 4 3/8 in. (11 cm.) high, base 2½ in. (6.3 cm.) x 3 3/8 in. (8.5 cm.)
