A PINK SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND RING, BY FORMS Set with a cushion-shaped pink sapphire weighing approximately 19.47 carats, joined to the openwork bombé gallery set with sixteen cushion-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 0.78 to 0.70 carat, to the brilliant-cut diamond three quarter-hoop, mounted in 18k white gold, ring size 5¾, in brown leather Forms case With maker's mark for Forms Accompanied by report no. 73249 dated 12 March 2014 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that the 19.47 carat pink sapphire is of Burma (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heating; also accompanied by an appendix stating that the natural pink sapphire possesses characteristics which merit special mention and appreciation. The pink sapphire shows a remarkable size, combined with an attractive pink colour and a fine purity. The small inclusions found by microscopic examination and the analysed properties are consistent with those found in pink sapphires from the classical mines in Burma (Myanmar). Its attractive pink colour is due to a combination of well-balanced trace elements in the gemstone, typical and characteristic for the finest pink sapphires from Burma. The pink sapphire has been spared exposure to heat treatment and its clarity and colour are thus all natural. A natural pink sapphire from Burma of this size and quality is rare Also accompanied by report no. CS 63880 dated 3 October 2014 from the American Gemological Laboratories stating that based on available gemological information, it is the opinion of the laboratory that the pink sapphire weighing 19.47 carat is natural, the origin of this material would be classified as Classic Burma (Myanmar), heat enhancement: none, clarity enhancement: none; also accompanied by a letter stating that the pink sapphire exhibits a vividly intense pink colour that is complemented by a fine cut resulting in numerous bright, internal colour reflections and brilliance. Augmenting the importance of this outstanding Burmese gem is the fact that it does not exhibit any gemological evidence of heating.
