A PAIR OF SWISS REVERSE GLASS PAINTINGS BY JOHANN PETRUS VON ESCH, LATE 17TH CENTURY, ONE DATED 1691 One depicting the Adoration of the Magi in the manner of Rubens, signed ' JPVE pinx' , the other depicting the Adoration of the Shepherds in the manner of Guido Reni signed ' Johann Petrus Von. Esch. invenit et pinx ' and dated ' 1691 ', within an Italian acanthus-scrolled giltwood frame, the frames stamped to the reverse 'HFB' with a triangular insignia 23½ x 17½ in. (60 x 44.5 cm.) (2)
