A PAIR OF SGRAFFITO RUBY-GROUND FAMILLE ROSE 'MEDALLION' BOWLS DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARKS IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850) Each is finely decorated on the exterior with four landscape medallions, three decorated in sepia, the fourth in famille rose , all separated by stylized flower sprays reserved on the dark ruby sgraffito ground. The center of the interior is decorated with a stylized ruyi -petaled flower head. 5 7/8 in. (15 cm.) diam.
