(Silver & Objects of Vertu, 25th March 2020) A pair of Queen Anne Britannia standard silver dog nose table spoons, London 1704 by Issac Davenport (reg. April 1697) A pair of Queen Anne Britannia standard silver dog nose table spoons, London 1704 by Issac Davenport (reg. April 1697) Oval bowl with rat tail, the terminal later engraved with a 19th century crest of an eagle rising, in its beak an escutcheon pendent by a ribbon, thereon a hank of cotton, with the motto above Multa Tuli Fecique. Each fully marked. (2) Length – 19.6 cm / 7.7 inches Weight – 121 grams / 3.89 ozt The crest and motto are for Arkwright For Rev. Edwin Arkwright of 36 Seymour Street, London A clerk in holy orders, M.A. (Oxon). born May 2, 1839, being the fifth son of John Arkwright, Esq., of Hampton Court, co Hereford, J. P., by his wife Sarah, eldest surviving daughter of Sir Hungerford Hoskyns, Bart., of Harewood.
