A pair of Meissen Ormolu-mounted figures of Harlequin and Columbine Circa 1745, blue crossed swords marks to back of bases, the mounts possibly third quarter of the 18th Century, the flowers probably French and perhaps the third quarter of the 18th century Harlequin and Columbine modelled by J.J. Kndler , he wearing a conical green hat, his jacket divided into green, puce and pale-yellow panels with scattered playing cards, she in a yellow bodice and white skirt decorated with coloured indianische Blumen , he playing the bagpipes, she the hurdy-gurdy, both seated on rockwork bases, the scroll-moulded rectangular ormolu bases issuing scrolling branches terminating in foliate nozzles and applied with porcelain flowers (chipping to flowers, he with restoration to his face, his hat a restored replacement, she broken through at the waist and restored, minute chipping to her hat, both with chipping to flowers and ribbons) Harlequin candelabrum 6.5/8 in. (16.8 cm.) high overall, Columbine candelabrum 7 in. (17.8 cm.) high overall (2)
