The Rothschild family has been mentioned in association with this model, and the CR monogram could be that of Charlotte de Rothschild (1825-1899), daughter of James de Rothschild, who established the French branch. She married in 1842 her cousin Nathaniel de Rothschild (1812-1870), of the English branch but resident in France, where he established Château Mouton-Rothschild.
