MARK OF PHILIP RUNDELL LONDON, 1820, RETAILED BY RUNDELL, BRIDGE AND RUNDELL
A PAIR OF GEORGE IV SILVER SOUP-TUREENS, STANDS, COVERS AND LINERS FROM THE SUTTON SERVICE MARK OF PHILIP RUNDELL LONDON, 1820, RETAILED BY RUNDELL, BRIDGE AND RUNDELL Compressed campana-shaped on pedestal foot with strapwork border, on plain square plinth, the lobed and beaded lower body with husking and rosettes, further cast and chased with winged demi-gods holding trays of fruit, flanked by springing leopards among foliage, with two reeded and beaded handles, the cover similarly chased and with pomegranate finial, the base on four lion's paw and ball feet, with stiff-leaf and egg-and-dart borders, applied twice with a coat of arms, the plain liners engraved with a crest, marked on bases, liners and under finials, the body also stamped with maker's mark, the plinths and bases stamped 'RUNDELL BRIDGE ET RUNDELL AURIFICES REGIS LONDINI' 15 in. (38 cm.) high overall 614 oz. (19,142 gr.) The arms are those of Sutton for Richard Sutton, 2nd Bt. (1799-1855). (2)
