A NORTH-WEST PERSIAN BRONZE SHORT SWORD LATE 2ND/EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C. The splayed pommel and ribbed hilt flanged to take wooden inlay (traces preserved), the triangular blade with shallow mid-rib incised with herringbone motif, 18 in. (45.7 cm.) long; a Syro-Hittite terracotta figure, with stylized features and outstretched arms, applied circular eyes and navel, wearing pierced headdress, mounted; another similar, hands clasped to her breast, both repaired, circa 2000-1500 B.C., 5 3/8 in. (13.7 cm.) and 5 7/8 in. (14.9 cm.) high respectively; a Persian painted pottery single-handled cup, decorated with brown geometric motifs, circa 6th-5th Century B.C., 4¼ in. (10.8 cm.) high; an Iron Age pottery jug, 1200-930 B.C., 5¾ in. (14.6 cm.) high; a group of mainly Persian bronze items, including a Luristan finial composed of confronting rampant ibex, with high arching horns, 6 in. (15.2 cm.) high; a reclining horse pin finial, 2¼ in. (5.8 cm.) long; a cheekpiece with confronting winged felines and central horned figure, 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) across; a stylized cockerel finial, 1 5/8 in. (4.2 cm.) high; two arrowheads; two rings and a coiled spiral bracelet, all 1st millennium B.C. and later; and two flint implements, an Upper Paleolithic brown flint ovate scraper, circa 30,000-12,000 B.C., 4 in.
