A NEAR PAIR OF LOUIS XIV WALNUT AND NEEDLEWORK FAUTEUILS LATE 17TH CENTURY, THE NEEDLEWORK PROBABLY 18TH CENTURY Each with a rectangular back covered in petit and gros-point depicting a luth playing figure of Harlequin amidst foliage and flowerheads, on a black and beige font respectively, the seat covered conformingly and centred by floral sprays, on scrolled legs joined by shaped stretchers, restorations to needlework and feet of one armchair, one backrail replaced 46½ and 46½ in. (118 and 118.5 cm.) high, respectively; 22¼ in. (56.5 cm.) wide; 19¾ in. (50 cm.) deep (2)
