Title: A narrative of the voyages round the world, performed by Captain James Cook With an account of his life, during the previous and intervening periods Author: Kippis, Andrew Place: London Publisher: Bickers and Sons Date: 1878 Description: 404, +ad. pp. With 12 Woodburytypes. (8vo), 21.6x14 cm (8½x5½"), gilt-pictorial blue cloth, all edges gilt. This is the first biography of Captain James Cook and was for generations considered the greatest. He received accolades from, among others, the great Dr. Johnson. Lot Amendments Condition: Some wear to binding, spine rubbed and sunned, corners frayed, foxing of edges of text block, with inscription on front paste-down; very good or better. Item number: 256953
