A MEISSEN CHINOISERIE PART TEA AND COFFEE-SERVICE CIRCA 1735, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, THE TEACADDY WITH PUCE ENAMEL CROSSED SWORDS, VARIOUS DREHER 'S MARKS Painted in the manner of Christian Friedrich Herold with figures at various pursuits among furniture, terracing and shrubs, on elaborate gilt scroll supports with Böttger -lustre panels and gilt dot ornament panels, edged with purple and iron-red scrolls and centred by small oval Purpurmalerei panels of figures in river landscapes, the white bodies of octagonal section and painted with scattered insects, flowerheads, leaves and flower-sprays, the borders gilt with scrolls, comprising: A baluster coffee-pot and domed cover, with a double scroll handle, richly gilt finial and spout (slight chipping to rim of spout) A squat teapot and flat cover, the facetted bud finial and spout richly gilt, the loop handle with canted edges A sugar-bowl and cover with seated kylin finial A rectangular teacaddy and cover A slop-basin Six teacups with gilt foliate scroll handles Six coffee-cups with gilt foliate scroll handles (one upper handle terminal cracked) Six saucers (some areas of wear to gilding throughout) The teapot 4 5/16 in. (11 cm.) high, the coffee-pot 9 1/8 in. (23.2 cm.) high
