A Meissen Chinoiserie baluster coffee-pot and a cover Circa 1728, blue crossed swords mark, gilder's 22. and Dreher's , to footrim, the cover with traces of gilder's 36. With curved short spout and scroll handle, painted in the manner of J.G. Horoldt , one side with an Oriental seated before a bird-cage on a terrace, a figure tending a potted shrub behind him, the other side with Orientals taking and preparing tea on a terrace, both scenes within shaped quatrefoil gilt line cartouches with panels of Böttger -lustre flanked by puce, iron-red and gilt scrolling foliage, between two insects and sprays of indianische Blumen and beneath a band gilt with Laub-und Bandelwerk , the domed cover painted with a bird and a spray of indianische Blumen between broad gilt bands (cover with some wear to gilding, coffee-pot with some minor rubbing to gilding, a small area of restoration and re-gilding to rim, a restored chip and some re-gilding to tip of spout) 7½ in. (19 cm.) high overall (2)
