A MEISSEN ARMORIAL SHAPED OVAL TWO-HANDLED TUREEN, COVER AND TWO-HANDLED STAND from the service made for Clemens August modelled by J.J. Kändler and J.F. Eberlein , each piece painted with the crowned gilt monogram CA within a ribbon suspending a Maltese cross and with scattered Holzschnitt Blumen including a daffodil, fritillary and a rose and scattered insects within borders moulded with gilt shells, the tureen standing on four paw feet with shell terminals, the handles to the tureen and stand formed as overflowing cornucopiæ of flowers and the finial of the cover as a putto emptying a pierced basket of flowers, the rims with gilt lines (tureen with crack to base extending up one side and one handle cracked, slight chips to feet, the stand with both handles damaged and repaired and section to rim below one handle repaired in two places, all with slight chips to flowers and leaves), blue crossed swords marks to tureen and stand, the tureen with Pressnummer 26 twice and underside of cover with 26, circa 1741/2 the stand 40cm. wide
