A MASSIVE CLOISONNE ENAMEL ‘CHAMPION VASE’ LATE QING DYNASTY, LATE 18TH-19TH CENTURY Each cylinder is decorated with registers of taotie masks rendered in various styles, divided by undulating borders between the similarly decorated waisted foot neck. The two cylinders are joined by a gilt-bronze eagle with reticulated outstretched wings standing on a fearsome crouched mythical beast. The reverse is connected by the scrolling tail of the beast, below a ferocious chilong. 21 7/8 in.
