A MASSIVE AND EXTREMELY RARE WUCAI 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' HEXAGONAL VASE WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE RECTANGLE IN A LINE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619) The vase is sturdily potted with a fluted bulbous mid-section between hexagonal upper and lower sections. The mid-section is colourfully painted on the lobes with alternating dragons and phoenix. The upper-section is painted on each facet with an antique vase containing flowers; the lower-section on each facet with flowers arranged in a jardinière on a stand. 33 1/4 in.
