The superb diamond earrings here are reminiscent of similarly styled ear pendants that once belonged to Queen Marie-Amelie, wife of Louis-Philippe of France (the principal difference being that the Queen's ear pendants are set with pear-shaped pearls instead of diamonds. While the design and cuts of the stone epitomizes the elegant era of Monte Carlo in the 1950's, the regal and classical style will always underpin magnificent jewels and important stones. Both pear-shaped diamonds in these ear pendants have been certified to be of the finest quality, D color (colorless). The upper section of each ear pendant is made up of a cluster of diamonds with a circular stone in the center, surrounded by marquise and pear-shaped diamonds, much in the guise of a flower. These may also be worn with lots 162, 163 and 164 in the collection.
