A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED THUYA AND MAHOGANY GUERIDON attributed to Adam Weisweiler the circular glazed top mounted with twelve Wedgwood blue and white jasperware plaques each depicting a sign of the Zodiac, with bright blue-dipped grounds and lapidary-polished edges, around a larger conforming Wedgwood plaque with putti playing musical instruments beside an altar, each within an ormolu border, with basketweave rim, supported by three pairs of ormolu simulated bamboo columns with beaded collars joined by a stepped concave-sided canted triangular base decorated with basketweave mouldings, supporting a circular undertier with pierced arched gallery upon a baluster column shaft, the splayed legs headed by basketweave panels punctuated by beaded mouldings, on splayed ormolu sabots headed by stiff leaves, with fragment of label with indiscipherable inscription on the underside of the top, with an English 19th Century mahogany cover for the top, lined in green baize on the back and inscribed in ink Top of Wedgewood ( sic ) Table. in drawing room, the undertier with chalk inscription Ligyon 16¾in.
