A LOUIS XIV GOBELINS ARMORIAL TAPESTRY After Charles LeBrun Woven in wools and silks, from the Portières des Renommées , depicting a central coat-of-arms of Bardot di Bardi, Comte Magaloti, surmounted by two youths supporting a coronet and flanked by two maidens supporting drapery, flanked by fruiting cornucopiae and with a cockerel and a dog to the lower outer corners, within a egg and bead-and-reel frieze and a husk-trail border and within a blue outer slip, variously inscribed 'Libertas' and the reverse bearing two labels indicating the history of Bardot di Bardi, probably reduced in height at the bottom of the main field, the lower and right hand border rewoven, areas of reweaving and patching, fixed to a wooden bar 101 in. x 80½ in. (256 cm. x 205 cm.)
