(A) LOT OF 2: COLT 1851 NAVY AND 1849 POCKET PERCUSSION REVOLVERS.

Lot consist of (A) Colt 1851 Navy single action revolver. Made 1861. Barrel markings have been completely removed. "COLTS/PATENT" marked on the left side of the frame. "R" marked on the left rear of the trigger guard. Engraved Naval scene still partially visible on the cylinder. Matching serials on the frame, barrel, trigger guard, cylinder, and butt. Rifled octagon barrel with pin front sight (worn down). Original finish is mostly gone and areas are now forming a gray patina. Brass trigger guard and grip straps. Varnished walnut grip. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with most areas having formed an even gray patina. Brass grip straps shows signs of prior cleaning. Grips have normal wear and handling marks. Bore is heavily frosted with some pitting. Fair overall rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing. Mechanically fine. Nipples have some light pitting and signs of use. (B) Colt Model 1849 pocket single action revolver. Made 1861. Top of the barrel is marked "ADDRESS SAML COLT/HARTFORD CT". "COLTS/PATENT" marked on the left side of the frame. "COLTS PATENT" marked on the cylinder, with the stagecoach scene still partially visible. Matching serial numbers on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, cylinder and butt. Rifled octagon barrel with pin front sight. Original finishes have worn down to a gray/brown patina. Single piece varnished walnut grip. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with patina and wear. Brass grip straps have worn to the silver in some areas. Screws show signs of marring. Walnut grips have finish wear, handling marks and scratches. There is a chip out of the bottom right front corner. Bore is heavily frosted with good overall rifling. Hammer is tight. Cylinder has some side-side movement. Gun is still in time. Mechanically operable, but the entire barrel assembly is loose to the frame.
