Beschreibung:

A late 19th-Century French lacquered-brass compound microscope, signed on the foot NACHET & FILS 17, rue St Severin Paris , the body-tube with draw-tube and rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, mounted "backwards", over a circular stage, tilting via an axis held on two turned brass columns, with articulated plano-concave mirror arm and brass horseshoe base -- 11½in. (29.1cm.) high ; and a Hématospectroscope d'Honocque E. d LUTZ A PARIS , with normal eyepiece and prismatic eyepiece atop the vertical body-tube with rack and pinion adjustment ( turning knob missing ) over a base adjustable via tangent screw to read off a short silvered scale, held on the main limb and adjustable via rack and pinion over the specimen stage with bakelite cover and substage mirror, tilting via a compass joint to a turned brass column and round base inscribed No 12 and with an oval silver plaque inscribed with two scales -- 9 7/8in.
