A LATE 18TH CENTURY GEORGE III MAHOGANY DOMESTIC REGULATOR WITH CENTRE SWEEP CALENDAR, SIGNED BENJAMIN DICKER the break arch hood with carved fret cornice and surmounted by three brass finials over glazed side apertures and free standing fluted doric columns, the trunk with moulded break-arch door over a plinth base, the 12 inch break-arch dial with pierced Rococo style gilt spandrels, silvered Roman chapter ring with Arabic five minute markers and calendar inner track for date of the month, with subsidiary centre sweep hand, the signed centre engraved with a ho ho bird and a basket of flowers, centred by a silvered subsidiary seconds dial, with silvered strike / silent to the arch, the weight driven movement with five knopped pillars and deadbeat escapement, striking on a bell, with pendulum, two weights, winder and case key, 237cm high Please note:This clock will not be on view at our South Kensington gallery but will be included in the viewing at Chiswick. Provenance: From a private collection. Condition: Seen running in owner's home, but not fully tested or guaranteed.
