circa 1831 Decorated by Leopold Lieb with a view of the Burgthor in Vienna, the base inscribed 'Ansicht des neuen Burgthores (von der Stadtseite) zu Wien' (View of the new Castle-gate, seen from the City, in Vienna), the view enclosing a busy street scene with a horse-drawn carriage and a changing of the guards under the arches of the gate, all within a formal floral gilt cartouche against a solid polished gold ground, the back of the rim of the cup and the rim of the saucer with a continuous wreath of ivy, the large loop-handle with leaf-shaped terminal decorated in gold, height to top of handle 10.5cm, cup: impressed 12. and 239, faint date mark (1)829 and faint painters mark 81 in gold, saucer: impressed 71 and 12, 7 , date mark (1)831, painters mark 137. in gold, collector's mark 8 in black ink (2)
