A LARGE GROUP OF SILVER, BRONZE, GLASS AND HARDSTONE STAMP SEALS, INTAGLIOS AND RINGS 7TH CENTURY B.C./A.D. Including a Neo-Babylonian chalcedony octagonal domed stamp seal engraved with a worshipper before divine symbols on an altar, a star above; two others, one octagonal and one fragmentary conoid, all 7th-6th Century B.C., 1 in. (2.5 cm.) high max.; a bluish-green glass scaraboid with lion; another, amber glass, with leaping winged horse, ¾ in. (1.9 cm.) across av.; a large group of Sassanian mainly agate, bronze, chalcedony, cornelian and blood stone stamp seals engraved with human busts; Gayomard; a winged human figure; a human-headed winged bull; a bird, fish, griffin, lions, a suckling horse, recumbent stags; lion and bull heads; a flower and nisan symbols, 4th-7th Century A.D., all pierced for suspension; a group of Roman and Sassanian, cornelian, garnet, lapis lazuli and glass intaglios showing Fortuna holding a cornucopia and rudder, a lion attacking an ibex, winged horses, birds, scorpions and recumbent stags, circa 2nd-5th Century A.D.; and a large group of Near Eastern, Roman and Sassanian silver, bronze and hardstone finger rings, most with hardstone intaglios or engraved bezels, some in modern hoops, including a bronze ring with confronting human-headed sphinx and hound; a garnet intaglio with man in combat with a bull; a cornelian intaglio of Athena; four Sassanian cornelian intaglios of a crab, lion and stag; and an etched cornelian inlay, all 4th Century B.C./7th Century A.D.
