A LARGE FAMILLE ROSE ' SANDUO ' FISH BOWL 19TH CENTURY The large bowl is of globular shape with deep rounded sides. It is decorated to the exterior with large lotus blooms containing the character ji for auspiciousness flanked by further lotus and leafy tendrils amongst cloud scrolls, interspersed with groups of pomegranate, peach and finger citron, sanduo , all between bands of lappets to the mouth and foot rims enclosing flowers and bats. The interior and the base are glazed in turquoise. 24 ¾ in. (63 cm.) diam.
