A large blue and white Hu-form vase Qianlong mark, 19th century Heavily potted and molded in raised relief with taotie masks suspending mock rings at the shoulder, painted in shades of rich cobalt with wave and stiff-leaf bands around the waisted neck, consecutive bands of scrolling lotus, composite blossoms and waves encircling the ovoid body above a lappet band at the foot, the recessed base bearing the six-character seal mark in cobalt and all surfaces except the foot ring covered with a colorless glaze. 24 1/2in (62.2cm) high
